Kyiv hit by one of largest ballistic missile attacks – one dead, 16 wounded
Russia launched a massive ballistic missile attack on Kyiv overnight on 18-19 July, killing one person and injuring 16. President Zelenskyy urged faster delivery of air defence systems.

Russia carried out one of the largest ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv on the night of 18-19 July, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. One person was killed and 16 others were injured in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast.
Zelenskyy said on X that Russian forces launched over 40 missiles of various types against Ukraine, most of them targeting Kyiv, as well as 120 attack drones. Emergency response efforts were ongoing at three locations, with nearly 600 rescue workers involved. Emergency services were also working in Odesa Oblast.
The president stressed that protection against ballistic missiles remains one of Ukraine's top priorities and urged partners to speed up the delivery of air defence systems and interceptor missiles.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported one killed and 15 injured in Kyiv. Nine of the injured are in hospital, three of them in serious condition.
