Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met the leaders of six European countries and other senior officials at a railway station in Kyiv on Saturday morning, he announced on X, as reported by European Pravda.

Among those welcomed were the leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway. Sybiha said the visitors would hold both bilateral and multilateral talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, adding that "important decisions and announcements" are expected to follow.

"We are not alone"

The minister stressed that Ukraine feels supported ahead of its Independence Day. "Ahead of our Independence Day, we feel we are not alone. Our allies are with us," Sybiha said.

Recent solidarity visits

Earlier on 23 August, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre had already voiced their support for Ukraine while in Kyiv. A day earlier, on 22 August, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul arrived in the Ukrainian capital on a solidarity visit, just days before Ukraine marks the 35th anniversary of its independence.

The German minister's visit came shortly after Russia struck Kyiv overnight on 21-22 August with ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones.
