US drone factory destroyed in Kyiv; Ukrainian drones hit Russian infrastructure

According to The Guardian, a Russian missile strike on Kyiv completely destroyed the drone manufacturing facility of the US company Terminal Autonomy. A source familiar with the company's operations said the plant produced high-precision drones designed for strikes deep behind enemy lines. These unmanned aerial vehicles are equipped with control systems resistant to Russian electronic warfare jamming.

The company's name suggests the use of artificial intelligence technology in its drones. Specifically, during the final phase of flight, when electronic warfare systems or mobile communication signals are blocked, an AI system takes over control of the drone. Terminal Autonomy was registered in the US state of Delaware in 2023, according to public registry data. The company's website states that it uses AI-controlled drones and high-precision munitions that are already in service and used against enemy targets on the frontline.

A source familiar with the company's situation told The Guardian that no people were killed in the strike. However, the attack has caused significant losses to Ukraine's defense capabilities, as the factory was a major supplier of drones.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones on Friday attacked several facilities in Russia. In Volgograd, strikes were carried out against the Lukoil oil refinery and a Wildberries warehouse, causing fires. A drone attack also occurred in Zelenodolsk, Tatarstan, where a Wildberries warehouse caught fire. These events indicate that Ukraine continues to target Russian energy and logistics infrastructure in an effort to weaken Russia's military potential.
