Unexploded ballistic missile found between residential buildings in Kyiv
After an overnight Russian missile and drone attack, an unexploded ballistic missile was found in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district and is being defused. Several people were killed across Ukraine, and a five-storey building was destroyed in Pryluky.

An unexploded ballistic missile has been found among residential buildings in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, following another large-scale Russian missile and drone attack. The National Police of Ukraine announced the discovery.
According to police, officers and the State Emergency Service are carrying out a complex demining operation in the Darnytskyi district. The authorities say the enemy launched the missile toward Kyiv overnight. Specialists intend to remove the warhead and take it to a testing range, where it will be neutralised.
This is not the first such case in the capital. On 29 September, police reported two unexploded ballistic missile warheads in Kyiv.
Scale and consequences of the attack
Russia carried out the massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine overnight into 7 October. Ukraine's Air Force reported that by 9:00 on Wednesday, 161 aerial targets had been neutralised: five ballistic missiles, 39 cruise missiles and 117 drones.
In Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region, a missile strike destroyed a five-storey residential building. Rescuers continued to search the rubble, as people might still be trapped underneath. President Volodymyr Zelensky said that five more apartment buildings in Dnipro and four high-rise buildings in Kremenchuk were damaged by the strikes.
As of 10:18, it was known that five people had died in Pryluky and at least 20 were injured, including three children. Two people were killed in the overnight attack on Kyiv. In Kremenchuk, two people died and seven were wounded, while in Oleksandriia one person was killed and three were injured, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has continued since 24 February 2022, while the war began in 2014, when Russia occupied Crimea and started hostilities in Donbas.
