A Russian attack on logistics infrastructure in the Bucha district of Ukraine's Kyiv Oblast on 5 November started a fire and left one man injured. The information comes from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), the agency that leads rescue operations in the country. The strike is part of Russia's ongoing military campaign against Ukraine, in which infrastructure far from the front line is also targeted.
According to the SES, there are no fatalities based on preliminary information, while one man has been hurt. Rescuers have already contained the fire. They are now dousing the remaining hotspots and dismantling damaged structures.
Rescue operations
SES units from the Bucha district and other districts of the region are working at the scene. Additional forces have been brought in to deal with the consequences of the attack.
Earlier reports
The head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, had earlier reported that the attack set fire to the territory of a warehouse in the Bucha district. At that time, information about possible casualties was still being clarified. The SES has since confirmed that one person was injured.
