Kyiv rapper Zipulya drafted after five-minute medical exam, Instagram post says
Kyiv rapper and blogger Zipulya, whose real name is Andriy Posysaev, has been mobilized into Ukraine’s military. A post on his Instagram page says the draft was illegal and that the medical commission spent only five minutes with him and ignored his disability.
Zipulya, a rapper and blogger from Kyiv whose real name is Andriy Posysaev, has been called up for military service in Ukraine. The announcement appeared on his Instagram account. The post describes the mobilization as illegal, saying Posysaev "passed" the military medical commission (VLK) in just five minutes and was declared fit for duty.
According to the post, Posysaev attended a boarding school for children with developmental delays. He was never able to obtain official disability status or a diagnosis, and the commission did not take that into account. The post lamented that these circumstances were completely ignored.
Zipulya became well known online for songs including "Nu nichego strashnogo, tyau-tyau-tyau" ("Well, Nothing Terrible, Tyau-Tyau-Tyau"), a phrase that turned into a meme, as well as "Rybaki vnizu lovyat okunya" ("Fishermen Below Are Catching Perch") and "Zanimayus sportom ya" ("I’m Playing Sports").
