Kylian Mbappe continues his remarkable World Cup form, scoring in France's 2-0 quarterfinal win over Morocco in Boston. Despite missing a penalty early on, his second-half goal tied him with Lionel Messi for most non-penalty goals in the tournament.

France's all-time top scorer

Mbappe became France's all-time leading goalscorer, surpassing Olivier Giroud after his goal against Senegal in the tournament opener. The 27-year-old Real Madrid forward now has 64 goals, with Giroud on 57. Thierry Henry ranks third with 51, and Antoine Griezmann fourth with 44.

France's top World Cup scorer

Unsurprisingly, Mbappe is also France's top scorer at World Cups. His goal against Senegal was his 14th World Cup goal, surpassing Just Fontaine's record of 13. He has since scored six more to extend his lead.

Most non-penalty World Cup goals

Mbappe's goal against Morocco leveled him with Messi at 17 non-penalty goals. Overall, he has 20 World Cup goals, one behind Messi on the all-time list.

Most knockout-stage goals

Mbappe's first goal against Sweden broke the record held by Brazil's Leonidas and Ronaldo. He added goals against Sweden, Paraguay, and Morocco, now leading with 12 knockout goals.

Goal involvement record

Mbappe's assist for Dembele against Morocco set a record: he is the first player with 11 direct goal involvements in two different World Cups (8 goals, 2 assists in 2022, and more in 2026).

France appearances record

Mbappe tied Hugo Lloris with 20 World Cup finals appearances, becoming the youngest to reach that mark. He is expected to break the record in the semifinals.
