Ķilps moves from VEF Rīga to Polish club
Latvian basketball player Kārlis Ķilps will continue his career in Poland after a season with VEF Rīga, signing with Twarde Pierniki Toruń.

Latvian guard Kārlis Ķilps has officially joined the Polish top-tier club Arriva LOTTO Twarde Pierniki Toruń. The 25-year-old played for VEF Rīga last season, averaging 12.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
Toruń's team finished last season with 15 wins in 30 games, placing 12th out of 16 teams in the Polish league. This will be Ķilps' second stint abroad – he previously played in the German third division.
Before joining VEF Rīga, Ķilps spent two seasons with Liepāja and started his professional career with Ventspils, where he played five seasons. He has also been called up to the Latvian national team for the World Cup qualifiers this summer.
Ķilps is one of several Latvian basketball players choosing to play overseas, and his addition to Toruń could help the team improve its performance next season.
