New MG 07 sedan debuts in China from around €13,700
A new mid-size sedan, the MG 07, has been unveiled in China, offered in both fully electric and plug-in hybrid versions starting at roughly €13,700. The car comes in seven trim levels with varying range and features.
Chinese carmaker MG has unveiled its new mid-size sedan, the MG 07, with the base version priced at just under €13,700. The model is offered in both a fully electric (EV) version and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, spanning seven trim levels priced between roughly €13,680 and €20,300.
Electric version
The EV variants use an 800-volt electrical architecture and come with either a 67 kWh or 91 kWh battery. Depending on configuration, range on a single charge reaches between 610 and 845 kilometers under China's testing standard. The most powerful version produces around 315 horsepower. Deliveries of the shorter-range variant are due to begin at the end of August, while the longer-range version will reach buyers in October.
Hybrid version
The PHEV variant pairs a 1.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor. On electric power alone it can travel up to 245 kilometers, while total range with a full battery and full fuel tank reaches nearly 1,745 kilometers. The manufacturer also cites very low fuel consumption once the battery is depleted.
Dimensions and features
The sedan measures nearly 4.9 meters in length and offers 168 liters of trunk space. The cabin includes a digital instrument cluster, a large central touchscreen, a LiDAR sensor and driver-assistance systems, along with heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic roof and a premium audio system. An active electromagnetic suspension system is also available.
While MG vehicles are already widely sold across Europe, it remains unclear whether or when the MG 07 might arrive on European markets.
