Chinese dancer and humanoid robots reach America's Got Talent final
Chinese dancer Wu Yufei is preparing to perform in the America's Got Talent final alongside four humanoid robots made by Chinese company Unitree. The act blends dance, kung fu moves and acrobatics.
A dancer-and-robot act is heading to the America's Got Talent final, pairing Chinese performer Wu Yufei with four humanoid robots built by Chinese robotics company Unitree.
The routine combines dance choreography with kung fu-style movements, while the robots also perform flips and other acrobatic feats alongside their human partner.
Fast learners, but humans still have an edge
Wu says the robots are able to pick up choreography extremely quickly. Even so, he notes that humans retain an advantage when it comes to adapting on the fly to unexpected changes during a live performance.
After months of rehearsing together, Wu says he has developed a genuine sense of "team spirit" with the robotic performers.
The act is now set to take the stage at the show's final, aiming to showcase a mix of technological precision, dance artistry and martial arts.
