Klaucans moves to another Canadian junior league

The 18-year-old Latvian center Klaucans is set to switch leagues within Canadian junior hockey, according to LETA. Klaucans spent last season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where he scored four goals and recorded seven assists in 50 regular-season games. In the playoffs, he featured in two matches and did not pick up a point.

Prior to that, he played in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), which represents the second tier of junior hockey in the United States. Klaucans was Latvia's most productive player at this year's U-18 world championship, tallying five goals and one assist in seven games. He also took part in the U-20 world championship, with one assist in five games. The forward will now continue his development in a different league in the Canadian junior system.
