Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 in a Bundesliga football match. Harry Kane missed a penalty, and Fabio Silva equalised in the 89th minute.

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 in Der Klassiker, the Bundesliga match between Germany's top football rivals, in Munich. England striker Harry Kane missed a penalty for Bayern, and Dortmund substitute Fabio Silva levelled the score in the 89th minute. Both clubs remain level on points at the top of the Bundesliga table.
How the match unfolded
Kane was honoured in Munich before kick-off after winning the Ballon d'Or, and he walked out separately from the other players. In the first half, a goal by Dortmund's Jobe Bellingham was ruled out after a VAR check showed Carney Chukwuemeka colliding with the goalkeeper. Bayern then took the lead: Michael Olise, who had earlier hit the post, sent Konrad Laimer through, and the Austrian scored at the second attempt in the 38th minute.
In the second half, Kane's 57th-minute penalty struck the crossbar. Three minutes later Serhou Guirassy equalised, after Kane had been dispossessed in the build-up. Dayot Upamecano restored Bayern's lead in the 66th minute from a Kane assist, but Silva equalised in the 89th minute. With the final kick of the game, Lennart Karl hit the crossbar for Bayern.
Bayern's difficulties
Bayern are going through a demanding period, with a busy schedule, a growing injury list and head coach Vincent Kompany absent while recovering. Luis Diaz was already out, and Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry went off injured in the first half. Before this match Bayern had been averaging more than five goals per home game this season. Dortmund are coached by Niko Kovac.
