Klitschko: Kyiv Already in Survival Mode Ahead of Winter
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko told AFP that Russian attacks on bridges and infrastructure have put the Ukrainian capital into survival mode ahead of winter.

Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, says the city has entered survival mode as winter approaches. He made the remarks in an interview with the French news agency AFP, published on Thursday evening, 8 October.
According to the mayor, the situation has been caused by Russian attacks on bridges and other infrastructure facilities. The strikes are part of the war Russia launched against Ukraine, and they hit facilities the city needs for its everyday functioning.
The published portion of the interview does not give further details, such as the number of damaged facilities or specific measures to prepare for winter. Klitschko's assessment is a public description from the city's leadership of the state in which Kyiv is facing the coldest season of the year.
