KNAB and European Public Prosecutor's Office Search Hospitals in Jelgava and Bauska

Latvia's anti-corruption bureau, KNAB, together with the European Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted searches at two hospitals in Jelgava and Bauska over suspected fraud in public procurement.

The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) in cooperation with the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) carried out searches this week at hospitals in Jelgava and Bauska. The criminal investigation was launched this spring and focuses on alleged large-scale fraud and abuse of official position in two public procurement procedures at these medical facilities. The searches were conducted under a court warrant, and further details have not been disclosed at this stage.
