Reto has unveiled the Kodak EC35, a $35 point-and-shoot film camera designed for accessibility. It features a slide cover, fixed settings, and a built-in flash, and comes in seven colors.
Reto, the company behind Charmera cameras, has announced a new Kodak-branded film camera: the Kodak EC35. Priced at $35, this compact camera aims to be as accessible as a disposable camera, making it ideal for beginners.
The EC35 is equipped with a 25mm lens with a fixed f/10 aperture and a fixed 1/100 second shutter speed. It includes a built-in flash that requires a single AA battery. A notable design feature is the slide cover, which protects the lens and also functions as a shutter lock, allowing the camera to be safely carried in a pocket or bag without accidental exposures.
The camera is available in seven colors: Midnight Black, Vanilla White, Butter Yellow, Lavender, Powder Blue, Blush Pink, and Avocado.
Compared to other Reto Kodak models, the EC35 offers a lower barrier to entry. For reference, the Kodak Snapic A1 costs $100, and the EKTAR H35 half-frame camera was priced at $50.
The Kodak EC35 can be purchased standalone or in a bundle with a roll of Kodak Ultramax 400 film for an additional $10.
