Three buses destroyed in fire at former bus depot in Kohtla-Järve, Estonia
Overnight on 11 August, a fire broke out at an old bus depot in Kohtla-Järve, Estonia, destroying three buses and partially damaging a truck trailer. Police are investigating possible arson.
A fire broke out overnight on 11 August at the site of a former bus depot in Kohtla-Järve, Estonia, in the Oru district on Briketi Street. Three separately parked buses were engulfed in flames, and a truck trailer was also partially damaged by the fire.
According to the Ida Rescue Center, the emergency call came in at 01:53, reporting open flames from burning buses on the depot grounds along with sounds of explosions.
Firefighters worked to extinguish all three burning buses and prevented the blaze from spreading further to the truck trailer.
Arson suspected
Because arson is suspected, police were called to the scene and are now investigating the cause of the fire.
This is not the first such incident at the location — a previous fire involving buses and buildings in the same area occurred on 2 August.
