Affordable and Fast? Wooden House Manufacturers Reveal Prices and Waiting Times
Wooden house manufacturers report stable demand, queues for orders, and growing buyer rationality in choosing optimal house sizes.

Manufacturers of wooden frame and modular houses in Latvia indicate that demand for private homes remains high. According to data from Swedbank, about half of those planning to build a private home choose wooden houses, while the other half prefer brick structures. Producers often face queues, and order fulfillment time depends on project complexity.
Market Trends
Industry representatives observe that economic improvement encourages people to desire larger homes, but recently buyers have become more rational – they carefully plan the area to avoid unnecessary square meters. "People's approach is rational – they monitor to ensure there isn't a single extra centimeter," manufacturers say. At the same time, talking about crisis has become a national sport, but houses are still being bought and there is enough work.
Sizes and Costs
Ralfs Rohtla, technical consultant at Swedbank, states that the average indoor area for private homes is 138 square meters, while outdoor space (e.g., terraces) is 37 square meters. These figures apply to all types of houses. Wooden house manufacturers indicate that custom projects are usually more expensive and require longer waiting times, while standard projects are cheaper and faster to implement.
Financing and Planning
Bank financing is a crucial component. When planning construction, both project development costs and waiting times should be considered. Manufacturers advise carefully evaluating both budget and time resources before making a decision.
