Jūlija Grase to Lead Koknese Primary School Development Centre
Jūlija Grase has been confirmed as the director of Koknese Primary School-Development Centre by Aizkraukle Municipality Council. She previously served as acting director and has worked at the school for 12 years.

At its meeting on June 18, the Aizkraukle Municipality Council approved Jūlija Grase as the director of Koknese Primary School-Development Centre. Grase had been serving as acting director since the previous director, Anita Ščerbinska, left the position on March 13 by mutual agreement.
A competition was announced for the vacant post, and Grase, who was the deputy director for educational work, was appointed acting director. The evaluation committee selected only one candidate who met the requirements – Jūlija Grase, who scored 80 out of a possible 96 points.
Addressing the council deputies, Grase noted that she has worked at Koknese Primary School-Development Centre for 12 years, starting as a teacher and later as a methodologist, deputy director, and acting director. She emphasized that many goals are set for the next year, but the main priority is children, especially providing more support for special needs children. All 11 deputies present voted in favour of her appointment.
According to the municipality, Grase began her pedagogical career as a preschool teacher at the “Auseklītis” preschool and at Koknese Primary School-Development Centre. She has obtained a certificate for working in special education programmes and in career counselling basics, and has participated in “Erasmus+” and other international projects and training.
