Colombia: Motorcyclist flies into bus cabin through open door after collision

In the Colombian city of Buga, a motorcyclist who crashed into a city bus was not thrown onto the road but flew directly into the bus cabin through doors the driver had left open. Witnesses believe this unusual circumstance may have prevented far more serious injuries.

An unusual traffic accident has been recorded in the Colombian city of Buga, where a motorcyclist ended up inside a city bus after colliding with it at an intersection in the city center.

According to preliminary information and surveillance camera footage, the motorcyclist was travelling at high speed and may have run a red traffic light. As a result, he was unable to avoid colliding with the bus, which was passing through the intersection at the time.

An unusual coincidence

Due to the force of the impact, the motorcyclist was not thrown back onto the asphalt, as typically happens in such collisions. Instead, he flew directly into the bus cabin, where the driver and passengers were present. This was only possible because the bus driver had left the vehicle's doors open.

The driver and a female passenger immediately got up to provide first aid and check on the man's condition.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident. Several witnesses have already suggested that the open bus doors may have prevented much more severe, potentially tragic, consequences for the motorcyclist.
