Composer Andris Dzenītis and Family Enjoy Countryside Calm in Stāmeriena

Composer Andris Dzenītis, his wife (artist Līva), and their son Varis spend each summer in the countryside of Stāmeriena, leaving Riga behind. This year, they arrived just before Jāņi (Midsummer) and plan to return a few weeks before September to ease the transition back to city life. Along with their belongings, they brought their cat and a tomato plant that Varis grew in kindergarten. The family enjoys the open spaces and peaceful daily routine. "The thinking apparatus relaxes here," Dzenītis notes.
