On September 9, the Latvian National Library will host the closing conference "Cultural Research for Our Future Choices," tied to the Ministry of Culture's state research programme project "Latvia's Cultural Ecosystem as a Resource for State Resilience and Sustainability," known by the acronym CERS.
At the conference, researchers plan to discuss several culture-related questions together with industry professionals. One topic will address who in Latvia provides diverse, quality cultural content and how well this offering matches what residents expect.
Measuring value and looking ahead
Particular attention will go to the question of how to measure the value of culture and its contribution to the national economy — a topic that has become increasingly relevant in discussions about funding and the role of the cultural sector in society.
