Harry Styles is currently performing for a record-breaking 12 nights at Wembley Stadium, following 10 shows in Amsterdam. He will go on to perform four nights in São Paulo, six in Mexico City, and a massive 30 nights in New York, ending with four nights in Melbourne and two in Sydney, Australia.

Capturing the Fan Community

Photographer Gareth Cattermole chose to photograph fans arriving at the concert rather than the performance itself, driven by his interest in the sense of community and self-expression surrounding live music events. “I wanted to capture the excitement and anticipation before the show, when fans were arriving, socialising, and showcasing their personalities through what they wore,” he explained.

The Polaroid Approach

Using Polaroid film encouraged Cattermole to slow down and be selective with each photograph, giving the images a candid, personal quality. He focused on small details, particularly handmade outfits, accessories, and humorous slogans on T-shirts, reflecting the creativity and shared culture of Harry Styles’s fan community. “I was documenting the event but also the people who helped create its unique atmosphere,” the photographer added.

Notable Moments

The series includes a fan showing off a hand-sewn tie dress that she assembled the night before, a handcrafted top featuring lyrics from Styles’s album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, and an excited five-year-old boy preparing for his first concert.
