Transport Minister Andris Kozlovskis stated that the Autotransport Directorate (ATD) has been seeking solutions to ensure regional bus routes in Pierīga are operated as promised to residents. Following a task given last Friday, ATD has reached an agreement with carriers to stabilize the situation. From Wednesday, July 9, all routes should be fully provided. Carriers have also given assurances that all routes will be operated in the future.

Kozlovskis emphasized that ATD is responsible for preventing a repeat of the situation that occurred since last weekend, when dozens of routes in Pierīga were canceled. He warned that if carriers again fail to meet their obligations, the question of contract termination or involving other carriers in Pierīga will be on the table.

Previously reported, "Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss" canceled 46 routes in the Ādaži direction on Friday and Saturday, 24 routes on Sunday, and 30 routes on Monday.
