Kraków shooting death toll rises to six, 12 victims in critical condition
The death toll from Saturday's shooting in the centre of Kraków, Poland, has risen to six, and 12 injured people, including a police officer, are in life-threatening condition.

Six people have died and 12 more are in critical condition after a shooting in the centre of Kraków, a city in southern Poland, on Saturday. The figures were confirmed by Jan Klęczar, head of the Małopolska (Lesser Poland) Voivodeship, as reported by Polsat News. The number of dead had earlier been given as five.
What is known about the victims
Klęczar said doctors in hospitals are continuing to fight for the lives of the wounded. Twelve of the injured fall into the red category on the triage scale, which means their lives are in danger. One of them is a police officer.
How the attack unfolded
At around 15:00, a gunman drove into the Main Market Square (Rynek Główny) in the city centre and opened fire on people. Eyewitnesses said he was wearing a helmet or a mask.
The attacker was shot and wounded, and was taken to hospital. Unofficial information obtained by Polsat News journalists suggests he may be a 25-year-old Polish man from Ostrowiec. This has not been officially confirmed.
The source does not mention the progress of the investigation or the attacker's motive.
