The Lampa conversation festival, taking place in Cēsis on July 10–11, will include a discussion on fraud—from the straightforward scams of the 1990s to today's sophisticated digital schemes. Participants will explore why people remain vulnerable to deception despite changing times.

The discussion will feature documentary filmmaker Ieva Ozoliņa, who tackled financial fraud in her film "No One Will Be Left in Debt." She will be joined by Viktor Artamonov, director of SIA "Arvik," and manager Jānis Jūrmalnieks, who will share experiences of trust and well-crafted scam tactics. Vadims Frolovs, head of customer service at Swedbank, and cybersecurity expert Elviss Strazdiņš will explain how scammers operate online and how to protect oneself.

Part of the discussion will be in Russian with Latvian translation. This year's festival features about 400 events at 66 venues, centered on the question "What should never be talked about?" Lampa aims to foster free, respectful dialogue and strengthen democratic discussion culture in Latvia.
