According to state news agency TASS, the victims included four women and a male security guard. One of the injured women is reportedly pregnant.
The 19-year-old suspect was apprehended and will undergo psychiatric tests. A murder investigation has been opened. The motives for the attack remain unknown. A video published by a Russian outlet shows the suspect saying during a brief interrogation after his arrest that he was "sick of his life."
Local law enforcement told TASS that the suspect has no previous convictions and had arrived in Krasnodar four months earlier for work.
