According to the magazine "Ir", a tractor worth more than 100,000 euros is being used on the farm of former Agriculture Minister Armands Krauze (ZZS party).
The publication reports that the tractor's owner is a company belonging to Nauris Kāpostiņš, who is the brother-in-law of the wife of former Ventspils mayor Aivars Lembergs' son.
Links to the timber industry
The magazine states that several unrelated sources connect Kāpostiņš to the interests of Uldis Mierkalns, owner of the timber company "Pata". This raises questions about the circumstances under which such expensive machinery came to be used on the former minister's farm.
No further details about the arrangement allowing Krauze's farm to use the tractor have been made public, nor has an official comment been issued by the parties involved. The report is based on an investigation by the magazine "Ir".
