According to available reports, roughly 2,000 people in Oleshky are currently left without adequate access to food and water, with the situation described as a hostage-like predicament created by the Russian side's actions in the city.
Six units, one coordinated mission
To reach residents in the hard-to-access area across the Dnipro River, six separate Ukrainian military units took part in the operation. Their coordinated effort enabled one of the largest deliveries of its kind ever carried out across the river in this war-affected region.
In total, 4,000 kilograms of food were delivered to the local population. The supply run relied on air transport to overcome the geographic and security obstacles that make regular aid delivery to Oleshky residents difficult.
The operation highlights the worsening humanitarian conditions in areas under Russian control and Ukraine's ongoing efforts to provide essential resources to civilians who have become isolated as a result of the war.
