Russia Strikes Kyiv with Ballistic Missiles, Killing Ten and Wounding Dozens

In the Darnytskyi district, debris struck a 25-story building at the fourth-floor level, trapping residents on upper floors while rescuers worked to evacuate them. A fire also broke out on the upper floors of a 30-story residential building in the same district, prompting evacuations. In the Podilskyi district, debris partially destroyed a 21-story building between the third and fourth floors. In the Obolonskyi district, debris landed on a non-residential area and set a warehouse and one other building on fire. In the Holosiivskyi district, where debris also fell according to Tkachenko, a five-story building caught fire.
In Kyiv Region, one person was killed and 15 others were wounded in the Bucha district as a result of the strike, local authorities said. Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces had carried out a massive strike against the defense industry and energy infrastructure “in response to terrorist attacks by the ‘Kyiv regime’ against civilian infrastructure on Russian territory.”
This is the second major attack on Kyiv in four days. The overnight assault on July 2 killed 31 people and injured more than 100, while damaging more than 20 residential buildings.
