Russia gasoline and diesel prices rise again; 30% jump in occupied Sevastopol
According to Rosstat, gasoline prices in Russia rose by 1.6% and diesel by 2.2% in the last week of June. The sharpest increase was recorded in occupied Sevastopol at 30%, while prices fell in Moscow and the Moscow region.
Russia's Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) has released data on fuel price changes for the week of June 23–29, 2026. The figures show a 1.6% increase in gasoline prices and a 2.2% rise in diesel prices nationwide.
As of June 29, the average consumer price for gasoline stood at 72.38 rubles per liter. A liter of AI-92 cost 68.76 rubles, AI-95 cost 74.38 rubles, and AI-98 or higher cost 97.15 rubles.
Regionally, the most significant price hike occurred in occupied Sevastopol, where gasoline surged by 30%. In contrast, Moscow and the Moscow region saw decreases of 0.7% and 1.6%, respectively.
The price increases are occurring amid a fuel crisis triggered by Ukrainian drone strikes on oil facilities in Russia and Crimea.
The previous day, The Bell reported that the Russian government had removed consumer price data on petroleum products from its Federal Statistical Work Plan, suggesting Rosstat would stop publishing fuel price trends. However, Rosstat stated it would continue publishing full data, claiming that only duplicate entries had been removed from the plan.
This is not the first time the agency has withheld important public data; previously, it concealed figures on income inequality.
