Russia strikes business center in Lozova, Kharkiv region twice, 10 injured
Russian forces struck a business center in a residential area of Lozova twice in one day, sparking a fire and injuring at least 10 people. The local community leader called it a deliberate attempt to maximize casualties.
Russian occupying forces struck a business center in Lozova, a city in Ukraine's Kharkiv region, on Tuesday, hitting a building located in a densely populated residential area. The strike sparked a fire and damaged nearby multi-story apartment buildings.
Sergiy Zelenskyi, head of the Lozova city territorial community, reported the attack on Telegram. According to him, after the first strike the attackers paused before launching a repeated strike on the same location.
At least 10 people are currently known to have been injured, some of them seriously. All emergency services are working at the scene.
A targeted strike on a populated area
Zelenskyi said the strikes occurred during working hours and targeted a location housing shops as well as medical and social institutions, calling it a deliberate calculation aimed at causing maximum casualties.
The community leader urged residents not to ignore air raid sirens and to avoid coming to strike sites, warning that doing so exposes them to the risk of repeated attacks.
As previously reported, on August 21 Russian forces struck a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih twice with drones, killing 16 people and injuring another 140.
