Russia strikes Sumy twice in one evening, killing a woman
Russian drones attacked the Ukrainian city of Sumy twice on the evening of September 20, killing a woman and wounding her husband, with damage also reported to a residential building, cars and a school.
Two Russian drone strikes hit the Ukrainian city of Sumy on the evening of September 20, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
The first strike hit near an apartment building. A woman was killed in the attack, while her 41-year-old husband suffered multiple shrapnel wounds. He was taken to hospital, where medics are providing necessary care. The strike damaged the building and five vehicles.
Second strike less than an hour later
Less than an hour after the first attack, the State Emergency Service of Sumy region reported that another drone had hit a civilian car, setting it on fire. Rescuers extinguished the blaze.
During the same period, Sumy also came under aerial bomb attacks. Russian forces damaged one of the city's educational institutions, though no injuries have been reported so far from that strike.
