Fire breaks out at major Wildberries warehouse in Russia after drone attack

Overnight on August 26, drones struck a major logistics facility belonging to Russian online retailer Wildberries in the city of Kotovsk in Russia's Tambov region, triggering a fire.

Monitoring channels began reporting a possible drone threat around midnight, and restrictions were subsequently introduced at Tambov airport. Local residents later reported hearing at least 10 explosions, after which a fire broke out in one of the city's districts.

No official confirmation of the incident has been issued so far. According to monitoring channels, the Wildberries facility in Kotovsk is one of the company's key logistics hubs in central Russia. It became operational in 2025, and once running at full capacity was expected to provide storage for up to 54 million units of goods.

Previous incident

This is not the first time Wildberries infrastructure in Russia has been hit by a drone attack. Overnight on August 16, a large-scale fire broke out at the retailer's largest warehouse in Russia, located in Podolsk, Moscow region, following a drone strike.
