At least 13 people, including one child, were wounded in the attacks. The extent of damage and exact number of casualties are still being assessed.
This barrage marks one of the most intense waves of Russian shelling in the area recently. Local authorities are gathering information on destruction and providing aid to the injured.
Russia regularly launches massive attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and settlements. The Zaporizhzhia region, partly under Ukrainian control, frequently comes under artillery and missile fire.
