Russia strikes Sumy with eight guided bombs overnight, three injured

Russian armed forces struck the Ukrainian city of Sumy in the evening with eight guided aerial bombs, according to local media and the Sumy regional military administration. Three people were injured in the attacks.

The first four bombs hit the city around 8:30 p.m., with another four following about an hour later. In total, eight strikes were recorded across five locations, hitting a private housing area, an industrial zone, an infrastructure facility and a car service station.

House destroyed, people pulled from rubble

One private house that was hit was completely destroyed. People were trapped under the rubble as a result of the strike but were rescued. The blast wave and shrapnel damaged around 15 neighboring homes. Civilian infrastructure, outbuildings and vehicles were also damaged.

Second wave hit industrial zone and car service

The Sumy military administration said the repeated strikes with four bombs hit two locations — an industrial zone and a car service station in the city's Zarichny district. The strikes caused vehicles and outbuildings to catch fire, and firefighters are working to contain the blazes.
