Russia attacks Ukraine with ballistic missile, air-launched missiles and 168 drones, hitting nine locations

From 18:00 on 22 July, Russia launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile and five Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missiles from occupied Crimea. It also deployed 168 attack drones, including Shahed (some jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmas and Parodiya decoy UAVs. The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.

Ukraine's defence forces engaged aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups to repel the attack.

According to Ukraine's Air Force, as of 07:30, two Kh-59/69 missiles and 154 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones were destroyed or jammed in the north, south and east of the country. Hits by one ballistic missile, three air-to-surface missiles and seven UAVs were recorded at nine locations, and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at four locations. The attack is ongoing, as several enemy drones are still in the airspace.

Background: Russian forces launched near-continuous attacks on the city of Odesa on the night of 22-23 July, damaging infrastructure facilities, an office building, cars and houses. No casualties were reported.
