Ukraine's Air Force has reported that Russia carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine overnight into Saturday, using several types of weapons.

The strike involved Iskander-M ballistic missiles as well as S-400 air defense system missiles. Russian forces also launched three Kh-31P/Kh-59 air-launched missiles and small Banderol-type cruise missiles.

The most widely used weapon in the attack was drones — Ukraine's Air Force recorded a total of 217 drone launches directed at Ukrainian territory.

Context

The report points to Russia's continued tactic of combining different weapon types in its strikes — from long-range ballistic missiles to cheaper drones intended to overwhelm air defense systems.

Ukraine's Air Force did not provide detailed information on the consequences of the attack or on damage at specific locations.
