Russia launches overnight missile and drone attack on Ukraine, strikes recorded in 15 locations

Russia attacked Ukraine overnight on August 29 with an anti-ship missile, a ballistic missile and 267 drones, with strikes registered at 15 locations. Air defenses downed or suppressed 233 of the drones.

Overnight on August 29, Russia launched a fresh combined missile and drone attack against Ukraine, Ukraine's Air Force reported.

The strike involved an Oniks anti-ship missile, an Iskander-M ballistic missile, and 267 drones of various types.

Nearly 90% of drones intercepted

According to preliminary data, Ukrainian air defenses shot down or jammed 233 Russian drones across the north, south, east and central regions of the country.

The Air Force confirmed that airstrike weapons hit targets in 15 locations, while debris from downed targets fell in four additional locations.

Some of the Russian weapons failed to reach their targets, and details on those cases are still being clarified. The attack was reportedly still ongoing at the time the report was issued.
