A fire broke out at a factory in the village of Novye Lyady, located in the Sverdlovsk district of Russia's Perm region, according to the local outlet 59.ru.

Witnesses said the flames erupted at the Proton-PM rocket engine manufacturing complex. Local community social media pages reported that the open fire had been put out by roughly 11 a.m.

Ukrainian monitoring channels shared photos of the blaze but did not identify a cause. The governor of Perm Krai has not reported any attack on the region, and Russia's Defense Ministry did not mention Perm Krai among the regions where drones were downed overnight.

A representative of Proton-PM told 59.ru that the company would not comment on the incident.

According to state space corporation Roscosmos, the enterprise known as Proton — Perm Motors ranks among the largest companies in Russia's rocket and space sector. The Proton-PM plant, together with NPO Energomash, forms part of a combined structure responsible for manufacturing rocket engines.
