Russian armed forces struck the "Amstor" shopping center in Zaporizhzhia on the evening of September 17, according to regional officials.

The strike was reported by Mykhailo Semikin, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, and Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Defense Council. According to Semikin, the strike hit a supermarket on the right bank of the city, triggering a large-scale fire at the site.

Officials noted that the recent targets of Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia have primarily been civilian sites — bus stops and buses themselves, as well as shopping centers.

No information about casualties from this particular strike has been reported so far.

Earlier attacks in the city

Earlier the same day, on September 17, eight people were injured after a Russian drone struck a passenger bus in Zaporizhzhia.

Additionally, Russian forces attacked an ambulance in the city with an FPV drone, injuring both the paramedic and the driver.
