Russia attacks Ukraine with over 150 drones, strikes hit 16 locations

Russian forces struck Ukraine overnight on 14-15 August with 152 drones and loitering munitions of various types, according to Ukraine's Air Force.

The attack involved Shahed-type strike drones, some of them jet-powered, along with Gerbera drones, Banderol loitering munitions and Parodiya decoy unmanned aerial vehicles.

As of 09:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or electronically jammed 124 Russian drones of various types, plus three Banderol loitering munitions, bringing the total number of neutralised aerial targets to 127.

Strikes from aerial weapons were recorded at 16 locations, while debris from downed drones fell in one additional location.

At the time of reporting, the attack was still ongoing, with several Russian drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.

Separately, Russia's Defence Ministry claimed its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 598 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on 14-15 August.
