Russia launched its largest ballistic missile attack on Kyiv overnight into Sunday, killing one person and injuring at least 15. The assault comes as Ukraine faces a shortage of Patriot air defense munitions.

Russia unleashed its largest number of ballistic missiles against Kyiv since the war began, Ukraine's foreign minister said early Sunday. The hours-long attack spanned six districts of the capital, according to national police.

Rescue workers pulled four people from a burning private home in the Sviatoshynskyi district, while in Shevchenkivskyi district they rescued residents from a three-story building. One person was later found dead. Firefighters also responded to blazes in the Solomyanskyi, Desnianskyi and Dnipro districts.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called the barrage "a brutal terrorist attack" and demanded a firm response, stressing the need for pressure on Moscow to end the terror.

Russia has launched several large-scale attacks on Kyiv in July, using ballistic missiles at least seven times. Ukraine's air force reported downing 18 out of 41 missiles.

Separately, Russian drone strikes killed one person in Dnipropetrovsk region and struck a passenger train in Zaporizhia, killing the conductor.

Ukraine said its forces hit two Russian oil tankers in the Black Sea, continuing efforts to cut off supplies to occupied Crimea.

US President Donald Trump said he is prepared to grant Ukraine licenses to produce Patriot interceptor missiles domestically, though details and timeline remain unclear.
