The mayor of Moscow reported on Sunday that the Russian capital's region endured a large-scale overnight assault involving approximately 600 drones, which left three people wounded. The scale of the attack points to Ukraine's continued escalation of long-range strikes deep into Russian territory.

At the same time, Russian forces carried out a missile attack on Kyiv, Ukraine's capital. The strike sparked fires in at least two districts of the city, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Ongoing exchanges

The overnight events show both sides intensifying long-range strikes against each other's territory — Ukrainian drones reaching the greater Moscow area, and Russian missiles continuing to hit Ukrainian cities, including the capital. Firefighters responded to affected sites in Kyiv, among them a book market damaged by the Russian missile strike.

The situation in both capitals underscores that hostilities continue without signs of easing, with mutual long-range attacks affecting civilian infrastructure and posing risks to residents.
