Russia Claims Strike on Kyiv Bridge and Two Vessels in Black Sea
Russia's Defense Ministry said it struck the Northern bridge over the Dnipro river in Kyiv on Sunday, along with two cargo vessels in the Black Sea it claimed were carrying military equipment toward Odesa.

Russia's Defense Ministry said Sunday that its forces struck the Northern bridge spanning the Dnipro river in Kyiv, describing it as a route used for moving troops and military cargo. The ministry also reported hitting two dry cargo vessels it said were carrying military equipment toward the port of Odesa in the northwestern Black Sea.
In an earlier statement, the ministry said Russian forces had overnight struck another dry cargo vessel east of Odesa, as well as a Nova Poshta logistics center in Chornomorsk and a data center in Odesa.
Vow to escalate strikes
On Sunday, Russia said it would intensify strikes on Ukraine after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Reuters that Kyiv intends to step up attacks on Russian oil refineries.
The ministry additionally said its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 559 Ukrainian drones between 8 p.m. Moscow time Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday, over several Russian regions and above the Azov and Black seas.
Reuters said it could not independently verify the claims made by either side of the conflict.
