Russian FAB-500 Strike on Zaporizhzhia Kills Police Officer
On July 5, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with two aerial bombs. A FAB-500 bomb killed a 38-year-old police chief and wounded another officer and nine civilians.

Russian troops struck Zaporizhzhia on July 5 using two aerial bombs, including a FAB-500 with a 500 kg explosive charge. The bomb hit near an apartment building in the city center.
Police had received intelligence about a possible strike and rushed to warn residents and bring them to shelters. Their actions saved many lives, but the blast killed the 38-year-old head of the criminal police sector.
Another police operative was wounded, suffering a traumatic amputation of fingers. Nine civilians also sustained injuries. In total, the aerial bombardment of Zaporizhzhia left one person dead and 13 wounded.
This incident is part of the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine.
