The Troitsky District Court in Moscow has granted investigators' request and changed blogger Diana Shurygina's (married name Shlyanina) pretrial measure from house arrest to detention. On June 16, the Moscow outlet Msk1 reported that Shurygina had been under house arrest until July 19.

Telegram channels Baza and Shot, linked to Russian security services and law enforcement respectively, report that investigators petitioned the court after Shurygina violated house arrest terms by using a mobile phone. According to the channels, she will be held in the detention center for at least 11 days.

Shurygina became a household name in Russia in 2017 after appearing on the popular state TV talk show "Let Them Talk." During the broadcast, she recounted being raped at a party at age 16, accusing Sergei Semenov, then 21, whom she said she had not known before that night. Semenov was later sentenced to eight years in prison.

In June 2026, news emerged that a criminal case had been opened against Shurygina for distributing pornography. A law enforcement source told the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti that the case stemmed from the publication of intimate photos and videos on a Telegram channel that Shurygina administered. The pro-Kremlin tabloid Komsomolskaya Pravda claims the investigation is connected to videos and photos she distributed through OnlyFans. Tabloids had reported as early as 2021 that Shurygina had opened an OnlyFans account where she sold explicit content.
