Russia's election commission: five parties on track to enter State Duma
With ballots counted from more than a third of precincts, Russia's Central Election Commission reports ruling party United Russia leading with 57.19%, while four other parties have cleared the 5% threshold.
Russia's Central Election Commission has published interim results of the State Duma elections after processing 36.87% of precinct tally sheets.
According to the data, ruling party United Russia holds 57.19% of the vote on the federal party list. The Communist Party is in second place with 13.85%, followed by the Liberal Democratic Party with 9.16% and New People with 8.01%. A Just Russia also cleared the 5% threshold required for representation, securing 5.23%.
Majority in single-mandate districts
The commission had earlier reported that United Russia candidates were leading in 161 of the 225 single-mandate districts.
The State Duma has 450 seats in total. Half are allocated through the proportional federal party-list vote, while the other half are filled in single-mandate districts, where the candidate with the most votes in each district wins.
If the current trend holds, five parties would enter the new State Duma — the same five that were represented in the outgoing convocation.
