Viktor Vodolatsky, first deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma committee on CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, has called on the country to prepare for a possible war with NATO and the European Union by 2030. In an interview with the publication “Abzac,” he emphasized that one of the key measures is the introduction of initial military training in schools starting from the fifth grade.

Vodolatsky stated that Russia must first develop its military-industrial complex, especially missile production. However, without preparing the younger generation, this would not be sufficient. He proposed introducing subjects similar to the cadet corps program so that both girls and boys would be ready for any external challenges. The deputy stressed that young people should be prepared to defend the fatherland, their homeland, and their families.

The deputy also declared that Russia would necessarily respond to any threats and boasted of “miracle weapons” that the West does not have and will not have for a long time. He claimed that Russia is already ready to defend its sovereignty and national security using weapons that will only appear in the West after several decades. Vodolatsky reiterated the Russian propaganda narrative that Russia is actually a victim of aggression from the West and Ukraine, and promised that any enemy would be destroyed, just as in the past.
