Russian drone strike on supermarket in Chernihiv kills two, including child, injures several

A Russian drone hit an ATB supermarket in Chernihiv, Ukraine, killing two people, including a child, and wounding at least 20 others.

A Russian unmanned aerial vehicle crashed into an ATB supermarket in Chernihiv, resulting in two deaths and multiple injuries, local authorities reported.

According to Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, the drone struck the supermarket in the ZAZ residential district. Initial reports indicated two dead and three wounded. Bryzhynskyi later confirmed that a 10-year-old child was among the deceased.

Viacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Oblast Military Administration, clarified that a 9-year-old girl was one of the two fatalities. Early information mentioned 13 injured, including a 10-year-old boy. Three people remain in intensive care.

The number of injured increased over time. By 17:33, 13 people were reported injured – 4 men and 9 women. Three were hospitalized with moderate injuries; others received outpatient care. At 18:33, Bryzhynskyi reported that 20 people had sought medical assistance, with three hospitalized.

In total, Russian forces struck three locations: the ATB supermarket, a car repair station, and a warehouse. Cars and the repair station building were also damaged.
