Russian armed forces carried out a series of drone strikes on the city of Izium in Kharkiv Oblast on the morning of October 3. The Izium City Military Administration reported that five people were injured in the attacks.
Damage across several districts
Explosions and strikes were recorded in multiple parts of the city. Near the Izium Instrument-Making Plant, a drone hit a warehouse belonging to a processing enterprise, sparking a fire. In the Lower Town area, a local business's premises and equipment were damaged, along with the windows and roof of a residential apartment building.
Another drone struck a residential neighborhood in the southwestern part of the city, damaging homes and causing a fire. Officials say the full scope of the destruction is still being assessed.
Context: Kharkiv toll rising
The strikes on Izium came as it was also reported that the number of people injured in a Russian guided bomb attack on Kharkiv the previous day, October 2, had risen to 42, including three children. Two women were killed in that attack. The incidents point to continued intense Russian strikes on populated areas of Kharkiv Oblast in recent days.
